We are delighted to welcome Professor Wändi Bruine de Bruin (USC, Price School of Public Policy) to WBS on 9 October 2025. Professor Bruine de Bruin will deliver a talk on "Communicating the climate crisis: The power of language and framing", exploring how climate change messages can be designed for greater effectiveness and impact. Drawing on collaborations with environmental organisations, she will share insights into communication strategies that truly resonate with diverse audiences. The seminar will take place in WBS M1, 14:30–15:45.

Wandi Buine de Bruin is Director, Behavioral Science and Policy Initiative at the USC Schaeffer Institute of Public Policy & Government Service; Provost Professor of Public Policy, Psychology, and Behavioral Science at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and Dornsife Department of Psychology and Senior Fellow and Behavioral Decision Making Lead at the National Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Threats and Emergencies (CREATE). She currently serves on the editorial boards of six journals - Perspectives on Psychological Science, Decision, Medical Decision Making, Journal of Risk Research, Psychology & Aging and the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making and has held academic and service roles in (amongst many others) the US National Academies of Medicine and the US the Securities and Exchange Commission. In terms of peer-reviewed publication, her CV lists 178 and 208 invited presentations and workshops.
