Warwick Business School has recently hosted 18 Executive MBA delegates from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (IIM-A).  The delegates were attending a 10-day module aimed to give a solid understanding of business in Europe and the challenges facing British businesses. This is the fifth year in which IIM-A delegates have visited WBS.

The module is part of the International Immersion element of the IIM-A Postgraduate Programme for Executives, and included group visits to local enterprise and industry, including DCS Europe, E-On, and Shakespeare’s Birthplace.  The delegates also attended a Bank of England Breakfast Briefing, hosted by WBS.

The IIM-A group’s representatives were full of praise for their visit.  Parag Toley commented, "WBS provided us with a 360 degree view of the business and economic climate in the UK via class lectures and company visits. We were also exposed to unique teaching methods when we tried to understand management and communication the Shakespearean way. The two-week stay at WBS broadened our horizons and challenged our way of thinking. I can definitely say I walked away a richer man, with knowledge and new ideas.”

Nikhil Dash added, “WBS provided an excellent window to view the European business environment through application of fundamental business principles, and the faculty effectively crystallizing key concepts in a very limited time period. The Bank of England's forecast of the UK economy provided ample opportunities to understand the facets of UK business environment at various levels.  The hospitality and teaching facilities were top notch and aided the learning process. I will always recommend Warwick Business School as a great place to learn about European culture and to network internationally.”

IIM-A delegates with their WBS hostsProfessor Qing Wang, WBS Associate Dean for Internationalisation, concluded, “I am pleased to announce WBS has agreed a further three years of exchange visits with the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad.  I know our MBA students look forward to reciprocal hosting by IIM-A when they attend the ‘Doing Business in India’ module next year.”
