The Chartered Association of Business Schools recently released the April 2018 edition of its magazine, which focuses on Research Income for Business and Management across the sector. Using HESA data, the magazine notes that total research funding for Business and Management has followed a 25% decline in real terms over the last six years, with international sources increasingly plugging the gap (particularly those from the EU). Despite this, WBS’s level of yearly research income generated has remained buoyant; over the past six years, WBS has generated more research income than any other UK business school:
This achievement is a reflection of the hard-work of WBS’s researchers in bidding for grants and successfully securing funding from external sources, whilst continuing to forge productive relationships with both industry, other institutions, policy-makers and government. Furthermore, it’s a reflection of the WBS Research Office’s targeted communication strategy around funding opportunities, alongside the increased, and excellent, level of support and assistance the Research Office has been providing over the last two years in particular.
