Amy joined the West Midlands Applied Research Collaboration at WBS in July 2024 after completing her PhD in Social Work at University of Sussex. Prior to joining WBS, Amy's role was Senior Research Fellow at Tilda Goldberg Centre for Social Work and Social Care at the University of Bedfordshire. Amy's earlier career included positions as Founder and Director in a research consultancy that provided insight to Children's Centres, Research Manager within the publishing sector and Assistant Manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Amy completed her undergraduate degree at University of Oxford (BA (Hons) in Human Science) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (Open University) and an MSc in Social Science Research Methods (University of Sussex). Amy holds the further qualification of Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) within the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Research Interests

Amy's research focuses on understanding leadership practices and innovation processes within children's social care contexts through a relational lens, including empathy.
