Biography
Eivor Oborn is current Professor of Healthcare Management in the area of Innovation and Organisational Change at Warwick Business School, UK. She earned her PhD at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge in 2006, and is currently an honorary Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School and Fellow at the Cambridge Digital Innovation Centre (CDI). Eivor has published work in leading journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Information Systems Research (ISR) and MIS Quarterly. Her research interests span the fields of healthcare, online communities, digital innovation & ICTs, as well as entrepreneurship in ecosystem contexts. Her current research projects engage with digital transformation in healthcare and scaling social innovation. Eivor has held research grants from projects in Canada, UK, Norway and Israel which have focused on digital technologies applied within hospital care. She currently sits on the board for Inovacare innovation ecosystem in Norway. Eivor is currently Senior Editor at ISR and former SE at MISQ.
Research Interests
My research focuses on digital health, organizational theory, and collaborative innovation processes using qualitative approaches. I am particularly interested in research that seeks to address social and organisational problems, linked with the use of digital technologies. I have employed a wide variety of theoretical perspectives which include practice theory, adoption and diffusion of IT innovation, theories of time and theories of knowledge in my work.
