Global Alumni Networks: Impact of AI on professional careers

The WBS UAE Alumni Network is going from strength to strength. We have nearly 800 alumni in the Middle East and 250 in the Network who are very active on the WhatsApp group.

In September the WBS Global Alumni Engagement team visited Dubai to reconnect with the alumni community and partners.

On 20 September we welcomed over 50 alumni to the WBS UAE Alumni Network event which focused on the implications of AI on the workforce, drawing on experience from an expert line up of WBS alumni panel members. Hammad Khan, Thuvi Wijenathan-Kulkarni and Jimi Daodu shared their perspectives on the subject, providing business insights, the impact and opportunities of AI, and how the attendees could prepare themselves and their organisations for the future.

The UAE Alumni Network Chairs are fundamental in leading and supporting the Network and were instrumental in shaping the event programme. Thanks go to Sorina Constantinescu, Dubai Executive Chair, who also chaired the panel and engaged with the keen audience, Yasir Qadri, Dubai Social Chair, Hassan Shuweihdi, Abu Dhabi Executive Chair, and Larry McClure, Abu Dhabi Social Chair.

As part of the globalisation of the WBS Global Mentoring Programme, we connected with a number of mentees and mentors and received some invaluable feedback.

Another key element of the visit was welcoming a new group to the WBS alumni community as the Class of 2023 Emirates Executive Leadership Development Programme presented their projects and graduated.
