Senior managers and executives looking to combine a new strategy with innovation can be coached through the process on a new course at Warwick Business School.

The year-long postgraduate diploma will allow executives and senior managers to learn the latest thinking and best practice in strategy and innovation and apply them immediately to their companies, with world-class academics on hand to advise the process.

The year-long Warwick Diploma in Strategy & Innovation will culminate with a final project that will undertake a strategy audit, outline all of the key decisions facing an organisation, map the strategic choices, and create plans for implementing the decisions.

Conducted over four four-day modules at the WBS London base at The Shard, the course is designed around applying the learning to your organisation.

Jonathan Westrup, Programme Director of the Warwick Diploma in Strategy & Innovation, said: “Executives tell us that they need to be able to make sense of strategy in the current dynamic external environment and that the resulting strategy is more reliant than ever on innovation as a core management capability.

“Upon completion of the Diploma participants will be in a position to put their in-depth understanding of the strategic process into effect with confidence - from external context to internal execution. They will also develop the ability to bring innovative and entrepreneurial approaches to the table in their current and future roles.”

The Diploma will enable executives to formulate strategy in dynamic and fast-changing environments and instil innovation as a core part of their organisation’s management capability.

The four modules will be on Creating Strategic Advantage, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Strategy Choices and Strategy Execution and will allow participants to make an impact on their business with the minimum disruption to their working lives.

As well as gaining the latest knowledge, research and tools in strategy and innovation, participants will be able to build a supportive network among the cohort and with WBS academics and Professors of Practice, who have been plucked from industry including the boards of FTSE 100 companies.

The Warwick Diploma in Strategy & Innovation is one in a series of new Warwick Executive Diplomas that are masters-level postgraduate qualifications for executives and senior managers.

Interested participants can find out more about the Warwick Diploma in Strategy & Innovation and the full Diploma Series with a taster lecture by Professor Ola Henfridsson in an Open Evening at The Shard on September 18.

“At WBS we constantly seek to bring this excellence to bear on management and leadership issues through our work with executives and organisations, and I am delighted to announce the arrival of our Masters-level Postgraduate Diplomas for executives to WBS London at The Shard, focussed on areas of strategic importance to businesses and organisations across the globe.”
