Why choose MSc Business Analytics?
MSc Business Analytics alumni, Dipayan Das, talks us through his reasoning for choosing WBS, how the MSc helped his future career aspirations and advice for future MSc students.
I decided to pursue an MSc in Business Analytics at Warwick Business School because of the university's strong global reputation and its educational framework balancing theoretical and practical learning. The course offered a comprehensive approach to analytics, covering descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive methods using tools like Power BI, Tableau, IBM SPSS, R, and Python.
Modules such as Price and Revenue Management and Operational Research Modelling helped me understand how to apply analytics in real-world business settings. This practical application, combined with theoretical grounding, gave me the confidence to tackle complex data problems.
I was particularly drawn to the course’s focus on quantitative skills, where we learned to draw insights from large data sets and apply them to business problems. This was essential preparation for working in data-driven environments, where actionable insights are key to decision-making.
How my MSc enhanced my career
The MSc course was key in securing my role as a consultant at JMAN Group, a technology-enabled management consultancy. At JMAN, we work with diverse clients, including private equity and investor communities, to solve complex business problems using analytics and data science.
The practical, hands-on nature of the MSc Business Analytics at WBS helped me develop the technical expertise and business understanding that JMAN looks for.
