Sunshine or not - WBS graduates celebrate!

27 July 2012

This year's Summer graduation took place last week on the Warwick campus. A total of 901 students graduated from Warwick Business School, with over three-quarters able to attend in person to receive their degree certificates. Many family members flew in from countries around the globe to share in the celebrations. With 1,299 guests, including 151 children, an amazing 1,979 people plus numerous WBS staff attended the two days of WBS graduations last week.

Wednesday 18 July - Undergraduates

As well as graduating, an achievement in itself in a challenging programme of study at a top global business school like WBS, many of our students win additional accolades throughout the year. Most recently, BSc Accounting & Finance graduates Surojit Chakraverti and Ravneek Bains, together with second year fellow student Folarin Araromi, were among Warwick Finance Society winners of the Gold Award at the RBS ESSA Awards (full report here.)

Many families around the world are now seeing their second generation of Warwick graduates. This year, mother and son Nancy Sim-Lim and Brian Lim Sheng Ming were both studying at WBS. Brian graduated with BSc Accounting & Finance last week, while mother Nancy will complete her MA in Management and Organizational Analysis later this year. (See the full report on our online Alumni news pages.)

Our BSc International Management course saw its first cohort of graduates last week. All did extremely well, achieving either First or Upper Second Honours degrees. (more details here.)

Professor Taylor concludes, "I congratulate all of our 2012 graduates. Whilst graduation marks the end of one phase of their relationship with Warwick Business School, we know this is not 'good bye'.

"As Dean of WBS, I am delighted to welcome our new graduands into a growing family of alumni, some 31,000 across the globe and more specifically, a network of around 8,500 MBA, 6,000 Masters and 500 PhD graduates.

"Higher education is an investment in your future and WBS is one of the world's finest business schools, a truly world-class institution at which to have made that investment.
