Make sure your organisation gets to the opportunity space first
Building an agile and resilient organisation enables you to overcome obstacles, by designing systems and processes that allow you to move quickly.
In this Postgraduate Award, you will explore why agility in organisations is essential for success in an increasingly complex, volatile and uncertain world. You will take a deep dive into the concept of agility, and gain tools and frameworks, which will enable you to develop agile capabilities within your organisation. Through case studies, you will be able to see how these frameworks apply in real-life settings and build an understanding of strategies, structures and culture that reflect an agile and resilient organisation.
You will also explore the pivotal role of leadership as the driving force for agility, taking the time to reflect upon your leadership practice in this context.
Duration
This Postgraduate Award will run across four days of face-to-face teaching at our London base in The Shard, with a six week window to complete your assignments.
Structure
- Day one: You will explore what an agile organisation is, and the emergence of agile organisations in a VUCA world.
- Day two: You will delve into the three dimensions of agility: Leadership, Strategy and Organisation, and explore how to develop an organisational culture to support learning and continuous change.
- Day three: You will discover how to develop the mind-set and practices of an agile leader, whilst also looking at language and organisational agility in practice.
- Day four: You will explore organisational design for agility, and how to embed and measure agility in your organisation.
Your learning will be consolidated into two assignments, a reflective paper and a case study applying the concepts and theories from the module to critically assess the agile capabilities of an organisation and to make recommendations for strengthening competencies.
