Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Enterprise Research Centre, Warwick Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Management and Entrepreneurship from the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. Panagiotis has worked as a Research Assistant at many institutions including the University of Glasgow, Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, NEOMA Business School in France, and Dundee Business School, as well as for companies such as the U.S. multinational Marsh & McLennan Companies and AKTOR.
He graduated with honors (valedictorian) from the Department of Business Administration and Management of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in Greece. He completed his MSc in International Management (valedictorian) at Strathclyde Business School in the United Kingdom. His dissertation 'Determining factors affecting entrepreneurial intention among Scottish and Greek business school students' was considered as 'Outstanding' and was awarded with Dean's Commendation for the best project in the programme. His research focuses on (international and social) entrepreneurship, innovation, personality traits, rurality, and international business.
He has published papers in leading international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Rural Studies, and the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, among others. He has published the book 'Women Social Entrepreneurship: Case Studies from the UK', several policy reports for the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) and Women in Banking & Finance, as well as numerous book chapters with Edward Elgar Publishing and Routledge Publishing.
He was featured in the Forbes '30 Under 30' list 2024 in Greece, which recognises the achievements of successful individuals under the age of 30 who excel in various fields. This list promotes bright minds from around the world who have made significant contributions. He is the Winner of the Adam Smith Business School Award 'Excellence in Research 2021', 'Excellence in Research 2022', the Winner of the 'Business and Innovation Alumni Award 2022' by British Council, and the winner of the 'Engaged Scholarship Award 2024' by Innovation & Research Caucus. His has also won the Pavlos Dimitratos Dissertation Award 2024, and the Adam Smith Business School PhD Prize for Excellence for the excellence of his PhD thesis and the significance of his contribution to the field of Management and Entrepreneurship. Over the last few years, his research has won multiple awards at international conferences such as Academy of International Business UK-I. He has also served as a track chair at the European Academy of Management (EURAM) Conference. He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Rural Studies, and the International Small Business Journal.
His research has received funding by the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (250,000 Euro), the Warwick Impact Fund (10,000 GBP), the Productivity & Futures of Work GRP - Warwick Business School, the British Embassy in Athens, the Onassis Foundation, and the Foundation for Education and European Culture. His research has been mentioned on the CNN Greece, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, the Conversation UK, etc.
