CANCELLED -Crafting Interesting and Impactful Research (Day 2)

Day 1: Problematization Workshop

As researchers, most of us want to produce interesting and influential ideas and theories. The overall purpose of the workshop is to discuss how Problematization can be used as a methodology for developing more innovative and impactful research. More specifically, we will in the workshop discuss the mechanism behind problematization, as well as actively work with your own research, trying to make it more interesting and influential through problematization. The main focus in the workshop, therefore, is how to develop interesting ideas and research questions, rather than specific techniques for writing journal articles.

Day 2: Paper Review Boost Camp (only applicable to attendees of Day 1)

Following on from problematization workshop is a one-day research boost camp on how to make your paper more interesting and impactful. The aim of the camp is to use "problematization" as a basis for providing and receiving constructive reviews of your papers. The purpose of the camp is therefore two-fold: to support you as an author in problematizing and developing your research paper; and to help you as a reviewer in providing feedback aimed at crafting more interesting and impactful papers. Participants are expected to submit ONE research paper and review FOUR manuscripts submitted by other participants and be prepared to share in-depth feedback with authors.  (45 minutes per paper).

To register for one or both days, please complete the registration form. Registration closes on March 16th 2020. To participate in the Paper Review Boost Camp, you must attend both days and submit a research paper in progress by March 16th 2020 (you can register now and submit the paper by the due date).

Space is limited to 30 participants. We encourage you to register as early as possible to secure your place as this event is open to several other business schools. Although it is open for all academic staff, preference will be given to junior faculty and advanced PhD student at WBS.
